Welcome to Kmirror
Kmirror and I/We Art
Finding joy at Pistyll Rhaeadr seeks to place you in the image to experience the scene as though you were there. The joy or fun is that this person has found a solution to the oposing forces shown on each side of the image. The technigue of placing a "back-figure" in the image was used by Caspar David Friedrich and is termed Rückenfigur.
The Wonderland Series 1 and 2 is not simply about the problem of going down rabbit holes and following Alice into Wonderland. The representational elements refer to our experience of a place and the abstract is about a more combined experience that is created by sharing with others. Put in I/We terms the repressentational is the "I" that is our experience and the abstract is the " We" the shared expience. The composition follows work by Andreas Gursky particularly Rhine 2 and also Rothko in seeking to offer both tension through opposition and calmness in the blending of elements. The aim of these images is for Series 1 to symbolise the coming together of ideas in resolution and in second Series to highlight problems that need to be resolved. This is not unlike Alice’s experience in Wonderland of trying to find solutions to the problems she faces.

Pistyll Rhaeadr

Fairbourne Beach
Finding joy on Fairbourne Beach like Pistyll Rhaeadr shown above seeks to place you in the image. Fairbourne has been described as at very high risk of becoming lost to the sea. The work is about finding solution to climate change and with it the joy of helping to minimise or prevent this potential catastrophy.

Wonderland Series: Video

The Wonderland Series of videos are similar to the images in using abstract and representational elements.
